Summer peaches are at their best right now – sweet, juicy, and tender. Here’s a way to transform them into a super-cool, super-healthy dessert with a dash of decadence!
This grilled peaches recipe takes less than 20 minutes to put together. The grill infuses the peaches with a slight smoky flavor and intensifies their natural sweetness. Place them over a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt, top with crunchy granola and add a drizzle of honey for a summer sensation that’s also very good for you!
Why We Love These Ingredients
Do you know the expression “peaches-and-cream complexion”? Well, there’s definitely something to it! Peaches contain antioxidants and vitamins that help improve skin texture, moisture, and radiance. They’re also high in gut-friendly fiber and even natural probiotics!
Research also shows that peaches can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and strengthen your immune system.
And yes, frozen yogurt is just as healthy and low-cal as the non-frozen kind! Like regular yogurt, frozen yogurt contains probiotic cultures that help balance your gut microbiome and support digestive health. Yogurt’s high calcium levels help support strong bones and teeth. It also provides protein, which is important for muscle repair and overall body function.
Pro Tips for Easy Prep
No grill? no problem! Use a grill pan for similar taste and love lovely grill marks. Just make sure you preheat the pan over medium heat; it should be nice and hot when you add the fruit.
Grilled peaches are best hot from the grill. If you have any leftovers, just warm them in the microwave and enjoy with the same toppings for dessert or slice them into oatmeal or pudding. You can also add them to a salad or cheese plate.
Ripe summer peaches are a treat on their own. The cinnamon and maple syrup glaze adds another layer of sweetness, but it’s an optional step.
Grilled Peaches with Honey Vanilla Frozen Yogurt
Ingredients
- 4 ripe, but firm peaches
- 1/2 TBSP coconut oil or olive oil
- 3 cups vanilla frozen yogurt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon [optional]
- 1 TBSP maple syrup [optional
- 2 TBSP honey, plus more for drizzling
- 4 TBSP granola or any crunchy topping
Instructions
- In a medium bowl using a hand-mixer, combine vanilla frozen yogurt with the honey. Place the yogurt back into the freezer as you prepare your grilled peaches.
- Cut the peaches in half and remove the stone. To keep the peaches from sticking to the pan, brush both sides with a very small amount of coconut oil.
- Place each peach half top-side down on the grill. Cook the peaches for 4 minutes, or until you see grill marks and the peaches start to soften.
- Flip the peach halves and brush the tops with the cinnamon and maple syrup, if desired. Keep cooking for another 3-5 minutes until peaches are soft.
- Serve the warm grilled peaches with a scoop or two of frozen yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and crunchy granola. Enjoy!
